This is my personal favorite interpretation of "Danse Macabre" composed by Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns who was also famous for "The Carnival of the Animals." The solo harp plays a single note 12 times to signify the clock striking midnight. then eerie chords are played by a solo violin, representing death on his fiddle. after these bonechilling “Devil chords” since the interval of a tritone has been known as “the Devil in music”. the main theme is first heard on a solo flute. in most recordings, this piece also has the xylophone to immate the sounds of rattling bones. I'm so blasting this masterpiece on halloween night. ;)
